Shade Tree Commission
The Bensalem Township Shade Tree Commission was established in 1959 and consists of a 4-member board that are appointed by the Mayor to serve a terms of four years. The purpose of the Shade Tree Commission is to establish a well planned coordinated program for the planting of trees and the substituting of new trees for those diseased, destroyed, or removed; to eliminate economic waste by reason of damage to public property and/or the property of others to better provide for the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of the township, and the beautification of the streets, highways, avenues, parks, parkways and other public areas of the township.
